The Scottish outfit were formed in 2013 in Glasgow, they wasted no time and by February 2014 had released their first EP, while also performing at the Commonwealth Games that same year.
The group formed in California turned heads in the UK in late 2014 when performing on Later…with Jools Holland having already began forming a fan base in America. They are currently in the process of writing their second studio album to follow up their debut album “Through Art We Are All Equals”.
3. Circa Waves
After releasing their first EP in 2014 the Indie British band went on to support The Libertines, while also appearing at T in the Park, Glastonbury, and Reading and Leeds festival. The band then announced they were going to release their debut album in March 2015 “Young Chasers”.
2. Wolf Alice
The four-piece band formed in 2010, they self released an EP that same year. After recruiting 2 new members in 2012 they released the song “Leaving You” online as a free download, the song was played on BBC Radio 1 and featured in NME. They then went on to release their first official EP “Blush”. In December 2014 they were named “Best Breakthrough Artist” at the UK Festival Awards.
1. James Bay
The British singer songwriter has released 3 EPs since 2013, his second debuted in the top 10 iTunes album charts. His second single released on 21st November, “Hold Back the River” went to 18th in the official UK charts. James is due to release his debut album “Chaos and the Calm” in March 2015, meaning it could be a huge year for him.
